FIFTEENTH ANNUAL LEGISLATIVE DAY
The Iowa-Political Action for Candidate Elections Committee, is hosting the fifteenth annual legislative day on February 20th 2008. The event will be located at the Plymouth Congregational Church, 4126 Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa from 8:15 am to 1:00 pm. After completing the workshop, participants will understand the importance of political activism and its relationship to policy and practice as well as current state public policy issues. Participants will also gain knowledge on becoming an effective social work activist and how to lobby effectively. This workshop is approved for 2.25 hour of continuing social work education. Cost of the workshop which includes a box lunch is $15 for students, $25 for NASW members, and $30 for non-members. An additional fee of $5 is required for CEU's.
