Iowa NASW is a chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest professional association of social workers, with over 150,000 members worldwide. NASW has led the way in setting standards for professional practice since the establishment of the Code of Ethics in 1955. NASW works with members and for members to create opportunities within the profession and with those we serve. Iowa Chapter members have opportunities for continuing education events, involvement in advocacy and social justice, and access to network with social workers across the state.

Annually, the Iowa Chapter seeks nominees to honor their commitment to serving others. SOCIAL WORK REINVESTMENT IN IOWA

Research Completed:

In the Fall 2008, the Iowa Chapter received the Ruth Fizdale Program Grant from the NASW Foundation.  The Chapter office utilized the funds to gain insight into the social work profession in Iowa. 

The research was developed upon completion of a round of focus groups conducted across the state in the spring 2008 to elicit social worker’s views of the future of the profession.  More information was needed requiring the research be completed.
